We all know that the upcoming Star Wars Live-Action TV Show takes place in the timeline. All the fans of the franchise have been waiting a very long time for a live-action TV series, and Disney and Lucasfilm are finally making it happen. The series which will be part of Disney’s upcoming streaming service will launch next year. Jon Favreau has been tapped as the chief creative force behind this Star Wars series and, while much of what we’re going to see is still a mystery, we now know this isn’t going to be another prequel-era story.
Jon Favreau, directed the first Iron Man movie and the live-action version of The Jungle Book for Disney and was present at the premiere for Solo: A Star Wars Story. During the premiere, he spoke to reporters revealing details about the show and that it is going to take place seven years after Return of the Jedi.
Exclusive: @Jon_Favreau confirms that his live action #StarWars series takes place 7 years after Battle of Endor, between #ReturnOfTheJedi and #TheForceAwakens. Will feature all new characters, using cutting-edge tech a la The Jungle Book. Story coming to @nerdist…”
This is great news for Star Wars fans that have been waiting to see the new T.V. Show. There is a whole lot more to be explored in the years before the events of Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
Plot details are still being kept secret, but the show will be exploring the rise of The First Order and the formation of The Resistance. Jon Favreau would be a great choice to helm the project as he successfully launched the MCU with Iron Man and gave us the best live-action Disney remake with The Jungle Book.
There is currently no premiere date or title for the Star Wars live-action series yet, but we can likely expect it to launch with Disney’s streaming service soon.
