Spoiler Alert: MAJOR Avengers: Infinity War spoilers below. You are advised not to read further if you haven’t seen the movie. You have been warned!
As far as Marvel Cinematic Universe is concerned, Spider-Man has not spent much time in this shared universe. He debuted in Captain America: Civil War and his origin story was developed during last year’s Spider-Man: Homecoming. Avengers: Infinity War took Peter Parker’s role further as he joined Tony Stark and Stephen Strange to battle the Black Order and Peter was effusive in his praise for Iron-Man. It seemed as if the youngster expected some sort of approval from his mentor. Audiences loved the nearly father-son equation between the duo until the movie reached an end.
After Thanos took over the Time Stone from Doctor Strange, he didn’t take long to complete the Infinity Gauntlet and snapped his fingers. Fans saw heroes such as Bucky Barnes and Black Panther reduced to ashes along with billions of others, but, it was the death of Peter Parker which hurt the most.
His Spider-sense was fully active, and Peter could feel his end. He held onto Tony Stark in desperation. The frightened youngster pleaded to his mentor that he didn’t want to go, and Tony was dumbfounded with grief. Before he was reduced to ashes, Spider-Man told Tony that it was all going to be fine, trying to calm the senior hero even when he was dying. That’s when Peter turned into ashes, leaving Tony back alone on Titan to cry about a loss that he had clearly said he wouldn’t be able to recover from in Spider-Man: Homecoming.

As you might recall, Tony faced the scenario of Peter’s death in the past, and he had a very bad time with it. “If you died, that’s on me, and I don’t need that guilt on my conscience,” Tony had told Peter after the youngster tried single-handedly beating the Vulture. Tony decided to introduce Peter to the world of superheroes during Captain America: Civil War, and that’s how their unsteady bond started developing. Tony had nearly become a father figure for Peter. Therefore, it is obvious that Peter’s demise would hit Tony hard, and fans are simply bewildered to imagine how this sad development would impact the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
