The 20th Century Fox studios has now released a short video teaser for the trailer of Shane Black’s Predator.
Here it is:
The message attached to it reads “tomorrow.”
This teaser is the very first look at the upcoming movie, which is set to bring the Iron Man 3 director back to the franchise and we will also see Fred Dekker step in for his very first big-budget feature movie after RoboCop 3.
The movie’s official synopsis is:
“From the outer reaches of space to the small-town streets of suburbia, the hunt comes home in Shane Black’s explosive reinvention of the Predator series. Now, the universe’s most lethal hunters are stronger, smarter and deadlier than ever before, having genetically upgraded themselves with DNA from other species. When a young boy accidentally triggers their return to Earth, only a ragtag crew of ex-soldiers and a disgruntled science teacher can prevent the end of the human race.”
While the movie may be very similar to the original one, Black had confirmed that the film will be a repetition of the franchise’s formula. It was later revealed that this film movie would introduce a new Predator.
“Fox has been in the habit of making one of these Predator movies every couple years, and they put them out for a limited budget that kind of guaranteed return, but they’re not really something that’s an event,” Black had confessed.
“I want to try to get back to that. Because there was a freshness, I think, to the first one…it was special then, and I want to get back to trying to reinvent it in the sort of way that it acquires that event feel that makes people want to treat it like a big movie.”
We will see The Predator hit theatres on September 14th.
