A new Terminator movie is coming back on the big screen next year and for one last time; we get to see Schwarzenegger in the role we love him the most. A generation has grown up watching Schwarzenegger play the legendary T-800 Cybernetic Organism.
The first two Terminator movies were directed by James Cameron and are considered to be one of the greatest action movies of all time. Schwarzenegger made his name as the action king of Hollywood. He played the big baddie in the first movie, but was cast as the protagonist in the next one. Terminator: Judgement Day was without a doubt the best movie in the franchise. After that James Cameron left to do his own thing, directing Titanic and Avatar, while other filmmakers failed to retain the glory that the Terminator franchise was not once, but thrice.
Since T3 to T5 were really bad, T6 will be ignoring the existence of those particular films, and will be directed by Deadpool director, Tim Miller.
Miller who established himself with Deadpool is expected to make the movie a great success. David S. Goyer, Justin Rhodes, Billy Ray and Justin Friedman are the set of screen writers who will be penning down the script for this movie.
Linda Hamilton who played Sara Conner in the first two Terminator movies will be back for the sixth one and this may be yet another reason why this movie will be a big success. The sixth movie in the franchise will be based after what happened in the first two Terminator movies.
James Cameron also said that he is looking to cast a younger actor for this movie in order to pass the Baton to:
“We’re starting a search for an 18-something woman to be the new centerpiece of the new story. We still fold time. We will have characters from the future and the present. There will be mostly new characters, but we’ll have Arnold and Linda’s characters to anchor it.”
T6 recently added another young star to the cast of the movie who will probably become the new Terminator and take over the mantle from Schwarzenegger. Rumour has it that Gabriel Luna who plays the current Ghost Rider in the MCU will be playing a new Terminator who menaces Dani Ramos. Other co-stars who are also confirmed include Natalia Reyes and Diego Boneta and join the cast of T6 for unspecified roles.
In a new update regarding the movie, the filmmakers have stated that the movie will simply be called Terminator. Actor Brett Azar, who played Arnold’s younger version of Terminator in Terminator: Genisys will now return to do the same in T6. His face was CGI’d with Schwarzenegger’s face but the body motion and everything else was his only. So we can expect some major action sequences from having a younger T-800.
‘Terminator’ is expected to come out in November 22, 2019 as the movie’s release date was postponed due to Arnold undergoing an emergency heart surgery. Hopefully, Arnold goes out with a great movie retiring from the character.
