Bill And Ted 3 Is Confirmed, Title Revealed, And Official Green Light Announced.

Fasten your seatbelts for a victorious run because Keanu Reeves (John Wick, The Matrix) and Alex Winter (Deep Web; Downloaded) are officially coming back onscreen to play the iconic Ted “Theodore” Logan (Reeves) and Bill S. Preston Esq. (Winter) in the much awaited third chapter of the Bill & Ted comedy series, Bill & Ted Face The Music.

After Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure and Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey, the original movie’s makers Chris Matheson (Imagine That) and Ed Solomon (Men in Black, Mosaic, Now You See Me) wrote the script for the film which will be directed by Dean Parisot (Galaxy Quest, Red 2, Fun with Dick and Jane).

“We couldn’t be more excited to get the whole band back together again,”  Reeves and Winter said in a statement “Chris and Ed wrote an amazing script, and with Dean at the helm we’ve got a dream team!”

Although today’s official press release has no mention of the other cast members, earlier rumors indicated that William Saddler (Iron Man 3) would be back as Death. Reeves, Winter, and Solomon had previously said that the movie would tackle the absence of Rufus, a character played by the late George Carlin in the first two movies. Diane Franklin, the teen star from the 80s who had played Princess Joanna in the original movie and also starred in Better Off Dead and The Last American Virgin, has earlier shown interest in returning to play her character in Bill & Ted 3. Sometime back, she was seen in Amityville franchise after a gap of more than thirty years.

Bill & Ted 3 will be produced by Scott Kroopf (Limitless) together with Alex Lebovici and Steve Ponce of Hammerstone Studios, with Steven Soderbergh serving as an executive producer alongside Scott Fischer, John Ryan Jr., and John Santilli.

The movie’s rights are owned by MGM, and they will release it in the United States under the banner of Orion Pictures. BLOOM will manage the overseas sales, which started in Cannes this week. The deal was negotiated by Endeavor Content.

In the original movie, Bill and Ted were time-traveling teenagers who just wanted to pass history class to win the battle of the bands.

Once part of a prophecy to save the universe with their rock and roll talent, they are now middle-aged and have familial responsibilities which ensured that the two friends couldn’t fulfill their destiny yet. They have written thousands of tunes, but, none good enough, and far from the greatest song ever. Since the fabric of time and space is being torn around them, a visitor who comes from future cautions them that it is only their song that can save the life in its current form. Disheartened and without any inspiration, the duo embarks on a time travel adventure to find the song which will set the world right and restore universal harmony.
