Bonnie Somerville was born in Brooklyn, New York, U.S. and is an actress and singer. She has performed roles in several movies and TV series, most notable of which are “NYPD Blue”, “Grosse Pointe”, “Friends”, “The O.C.”, “Cashmere Mafia”, “Kitchen Confidential”, “Without a Paddle”, and “Golden Boy”. She played the role of Dr. Christa Lorenson in the CBS medical drama series “Code Black” Season I. Somerville was introduced to acting and singing during her childhood and performed frequently in high school dramas at Poly Prep Country Day School in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. She did her majors in Musical Theatre from Boston College and decided to take up professional acting. Somerville was identified by a modeling agency while she was waiting tables. She moved to Los Angeles and assembled a band when she found an agent. She sang in Joshua Radin’s first album “We Were Here” and her song “Winding Road” was introduced in the ‘Garden State’ soundtrack, a film by Zach Braff.

She was invited as a guest in CBS’s entertainment show “Gary Unmarried”. She also played minor roles in the major trending films “Spider-Man 2”, “Without a Paddle”, “Bedazzled”, “Shades of Ray”, “The Ugly Truth” and “Labor Pains”. She again played the lead actress in the independent comedy “The Best and the Brightest” alongside Neil Patrick Harris and Amy Sedaris. Somerville also appeared in one episode of “Royal Pains” in 2010, a series based on medicine practices of doctors. She has also been a singer in the charity music group “Banned from TV” sharing the space with singers like Greg Grunberg, Bob Guiney, James Denton, Brad Savage, Rich Winer, Hugh Laurie, Barry Sarna, Jesse Spencer, and Chris Kelley.
