All the Gotham fans have been storming the social media and were trying to convince Fox to bring the show back for yet another season. This series had remained on the bubble, and now it has been announced that the network renewed Gotham for its 5th season.
The renewal is something worth celebrating, but it is still not as exciting as the news about what may be happening in the last installment.
According to a few sources, this final season of Gotham is set to feature a young Bruce Wayne becoming Batman for the very first time. One report had included a quote from the show’s producers:
“The fifth and final season will wrap up this unique origin story of the great DC Comics Super-villains and vigilantes, which revealed an entirely new chapter that has never been told.”
This is what all the fans have been waiting for, and it is the moment that the series has been building towards. Seeing Bruce Wayne don the cowl and become the Dark Knight of Gotham will finally culminate 5 seasons and 100 episodes of storytelling.
From the very start of this series in 2014, Gotham had been about the city fall to the lowest point and a point where it really required Batman. The show had begun with the murder of Bruce Wayne’s parents, and this introduced a young man to Detective James Gordon and had put the Batman story into motion.
Bruce has gone through a lot of events that helped him in shaping into a vigilante hero which he is set to become. The biggest of these events is yet to come, as the season’s finale will be introducing a popular No Man’s Land storyline from the comics. With the help of Ra’s al Ghul and Gordon, Bruce will be using the story to turn himself into the hero.
Gotham’s Season 4 finale, titled “A Dark Knight: No Man’s Land,” will air on Thursday, May 17 at 8pm ET on Fox.
