Disney Teases Mega Marvel Franchises Beyond Avengers


It was in response to a question from an investor who wanted to know about how Disney aims to keep the tremendous success story of MCU going. Iger himself has said that it is the highest-grossing franchise ever and has an average box-office collection of nearly $850 million globally per movie.

 “I’m guessing that we will try our hand at a new franchise beyond Avengers,” Iger said, mentioning that they have over 7,000 characters in their kitty.

Although Iger said that the incredible popularity of the Avengers means that the audiences shouldn’t stop expecting more movies for the well-known characters, but, “There are a lot more stories to tell and a lot more characters to fill those stories with.”

The contracts of several actors expire at the end of Avengers 4, and it has been long speculated that the majority of the Avengers characters will pack their bags after that film. Some characters who are likely to have sequels perished towards the end of Avengers: Infinity War and the studio is now not in a position to comment about their future schedule without spilling the beans on Avengers 4.

Avengers 4 will be followed by the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which will be the end of the present bunch of Guardians too. The maker of GOTG, James Gunn has been reportedly hired by Marvel President Kevin Feige to decide the course of MCU’s future.

The speculation is going to be frenzied and massive because Iger’s statement has hinted at a great change coming up.

Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War are currently playing in theaters. Ant-Man and The Wasp releases on July 6, 2018. Captain Marvel will follow it on March 6, 2019, and the Avengers 4 will wrap up the current phase of the MCU next year.
