Escape Plan 2 Is Coming And Here Is The Trailer

The plans to create a sequel to the 2013 movie where Sylvester Stallone teamed up with his buddy Arnold Schwarzenegger had been around for a long time, but, they took quite a while to finalize. There had been no updates related to the project for a while, and now Lionsgate has released the trailer for this fun sequel which might not have been necessary, to begin with. If you are one of those who have any interest in watching an Escape Plan sequel, the trailer might delight you to as it is full of action, absolutely crazy and has cheesy one-liners, one of which might appear to be wonderful to absolutely terrible, right at the end of the trailer.

The concept here is slightly different than the original Escape Plan. In the sequel, the character played by Stallone has more control of the scenario, and he is on a rescue mission. The prison is also quite different, and a very dark looking guy runs the prison and uses the worst of the bad guys to fight each other. Things worsen rapidly after Stallone’s team enters. There are volleys of bullets, a lot of punching around, crazy masks and all. If Escape Plan 2: Hades can come up with a twist, the way the original film did, this might be a funny Redbox, Netflix or VOD rental material to be enjoyed with some friends and drinks.

In this movie, years after he escaped from an inescapable prison, Ray Breslin (Sylvester Stallone) has created a new top quality security team. However, when one of the team members goes missing, Breslin was compelled to go back to the place he once escaped from to rescue his friend from the violent human battleground notorious as Hades.

Steven C. Miller (First Kill, Arsenal, Extraction) is directing the film. If you are clueless about these films, then let us tell you that they belong to the same arena that Escape Plan 2 might belong to. Miles Chapman, who wrote the original, and is also working on Escape Plan 3, wrote the sequel’s screenplay. The cast of the movie is quite impactful and includes Sylvester Stallone, Dave Bautista, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Xiaoming Huang, Jesse Metcalfe, Jamie King and Alphonso A’Qen-Aten Jackson. It’s a pity that Schwarzenegger is not a part of the sequel, but, there is Drax, and there is 50 Cent too. So the deal isn’t bad.

Lionsgate will release the movie on June 29. However, if you are counting down the days, the sad part is that this might be an exclusive Blu-ray/DVD and VOD release, with some limited time on the big screen. Maybe it is best that you catch this at home because this is the sort of film which might make you curse a few times while watching it.
