Brolin has previously played as the lead character in Jonah Hex and is quite familiar with comic book films. He played Jonah Hex in Jonah Hex for DC and now has starred in two Marvel comics films this year. His comment was sought about his experience with DC and his experience of working on Avengers: Infinity War and Deadpool 2. He gave a brief, but, crystal clear opinion.
“Total failure and massive success.”
As that quote indicates, Jonah Hex was a total commercial and critical disaster. Brolin hasn’t been back to a DC movie and going by his remark; it is unlikely that he would ever do. It is also good that his work in Avengers: Infinity War has earned him a great deal of praise from fans and critics alike. Initial responses to Deadpool 2 indicate a similar opinion for his version of Cable.
