Kelly Hu is an American actress and voice-over artist born in Honolulu, Hawaii on 13 February 1968. Hu went to Ma’ema’e Elementary school and later attended Kamehameha School. She was inclined towards performing arts at a very young age, therefore her mother enrolled her in a dance school where she learned ballet and acrobats.
Her journey to stardomstarted when she won the Miss Hawaii Teen USA followed by winning the Miss Teen USA title. One of her earliest modeling assignments was for the Philadelphia cream cheese advertisement. Her acting debut was a cameo in TV series ‘Growing Pains’ followed by her appearance in 21 Jump Street’ and ‘Melrose Place’.
In 1989, she played asignificant role in the movie Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan. She became the first Asian-American winner of Miss Hawaii USA. She played the role of an undercover police officer in No Way Back with Russell Crowe. After that, she appeared in a number of TV series as a police officer, like Nash Bridges’, ‘Martial Law and Threat Matrix.
He played the character of Jia in 2009 comic anthology ‘Secret Identities: The Asian American Superhero Anthology’. In 2010, she made guest appearances in TV series NCIS’, ‘NCIS Los Angles’ and ‘Vampire Diaries’. She lent her voice in many popular video games likeStar Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II The Sith Lords’ and ‘Batman: Arkham Origins’. She played the role of Cassandra, a sorcerer in one of her most popular moviesThe Scorpio King (2002).
He starred alongside Hugh Jackman and Halle Berry in the X-Men series, X-Men 2 (2002). She essayed the character of Sona in action thriller movie Cradle 2 the Grave (2003). She won an Action Icon Award (2012) for her substantial number of action roles. Kelly Hu is an avid poker fan and also competed at World Poker Tour and the World Series of Poker.
