Low Budget Joker Origin Moive Set To Start Shooting In Fall 2018

The Hollywood Reporter came out with a new report regarding the new direction that Walter Hamada is giving to DC Films at Warner Bros. The report has some information related to what the studio is planning for the future. Among the most important points of discussion is the Joker origin movie.

The Hollywood Reporter has stated that there are two Joker films being developed. As mentioned earlier in June, one of the Joker films will see Leto reprise the role he played in Suicide Squad in a solo movie based on the Joker. The other film is the one by Phillips, which has been a talking point for quite a while now.

Joaquin Phoenix is set to play the Joker in the movie which will be produced by Martin Scorsese. It is going to be a dark and grim version of the character’s origins as a bad guy. The movie is going to be set in the 1980s and is likely to come out under a newly established banner.

It has also been reported that this Joker film will start production during the fall, with a budget expected to be in the proximity of $55 million. As is easy to see, the budget is considerably lower than a regular comic book adaptation, but, this noir-style movie is expected to be a realistic version of Joker compared to anything seen previously. It is not going to be a grand film like The Dark Knight, Wonder Woman or Aquaman.

Keeping that budget in mind, it is quite possible that Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment might make good money at the box office when the movie releases in theaters.
