M.A.S.K.To Get A Live-Action Movie By F. Gary Gray. Here’s What’s Happening


You can now get ready for the new wave of nostalgia which will soon hit as the action figure line, M.A.S.K. is now making its way to the silver screen.

Paramount has struck a deal with F. Gary Gray for directing a live-action M.A.S.K. movie, and this film is set to be produced by Hasbro and Gray. They are now searching for a writer “to hatch a contemporary subculture movie with a youth empowerment angle.”

M.A.S.K. (Mobile Armored Strike Kommand) had started series of toy lines and an animated series during the 80s. MASK is an underground force which is led by Matt Trakker, and they try to hunt down VENOM, the criminal organization.

Gray developed a very profound following over the past few years, directing movies like Set It Off, Friday, and The Italian Job. Gray has also helmed The Fate of the Furious and Straight Outta Compton and is also being tapped for o directing Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson ‘s Men In Black spinoff.

According to this report, Gray had gravitated towards M.A.S.K. as it is a very vintage property and could be revamped for the contemporary audience.
