Natalie Dormer recently gave an explanation about her not being on Twitter, Instagram or any kind of social media. She was talking about the events of 2015 that left Dormer perplexed of how her words were misinterpreted by the media. Actually, she commented on her Game of Thrones character Queen Margaery Tyrell who seduced a 12-year-old boy in the episode. The scene was subject of immense interest and Dormer’s comment on it were later twisted to imply that she was against having sex with underage children. She told that media misinterpreted it for caginess, aloofness.
Natalie Dormer is 37, born on February 11, 1982, in Berkshire, England. During her childhood, she was inclined towards dancing, fencing, and public speaking. She completed her schooling from Chiltern Edge Secondary School and Reading Blue Coat School. Being a good student she became the head of the public-speaking team and the school’s netball team.
She also attended Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art and performed at Shakespeare’s The Comedy of Errors. Just 6 months after her graduation she earned her first role in a period drama Casanova. For some time she also worked as a waitress and a data entry operator. Her first big role came in 2007 when she played Anne Boleyn’ in ‘The Tudors.
Her career took a flier whenshe was cast in Why Didn’t They Ask Evans?’ and in ‘City of Life. She further improved her professional image with the role of Young Vic in play Sweet Nothing. She featured in some hit movies like Captain America: The First Avenger and W.E. In 2012, she played the role of Margaery Tyrell in Game of Thrones. She gave a scintillating performance and won the EWwy Award in the category of Best Supporting Actress – Drama. Although she keeps her personal life away from media, it is known that she is engaged to film director Anthony Byrne.
