Sarah Shahi is an American actress born on January 10, 1980, in Euless, Texas. Sarah went to Trinity High School and later attended Southern Methodist University with majors in English and Theatre. She was bitten by the modeling bug during her school days and went on to win the Miss Fort Worth pageant. Sarah joined Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders squad to complete her aspiration of becoming an actress.
She soon moved to Los Angeles after director Robert Altman suggested she try her luck in Hollywood. She started receiving minor and supporting roles in TV series like City Guys’, ‘Spin City, ‘Boston Public’, Off Centre’. Between 2001 and 2002, she made guest appearances in popular sitcoms such as ‘Dawson’s Creek’, ‘Reba’, ‘ER’, ‘Frasier’, ‘Century City’ and ‘Supernatural’.
Her first credit role came in the movie Old School as Erica. From there on she got prominent roles in movies like A Lot Like Love’, ‘For Your Consideration’, ‘Rush Hour 3’, ‘Shades of Ray’, ‘Crossing Over’, ‘Americanist’. She signed a two-year contract playing the role of DJ Carmen de la Pica Morales in ‘The L Word’. In 2007, she appeared in several TV series like Sleeper Cell, The Sopranos and Kennedy and Heidi.
She bagged a lead role in the NBC television series Lifecast alongside Damian Lewis. The series ran for two seasons in which she played a homicide detective Dani Reese. In 2012, she appeared in several shows which Chicago Fire, Person of Interest, Relevance’, ‘Ray Donovan’ and ‘Pitch’. She played the character of a lesbian and indulges in lovemaking scenes with other women in The L Word, which remains her most iconic role to date. Sarah began dating actor Steve Howey, the couple got married on February 7, 2009, in Las Vegas, US.
