For a number of years, science-fiction used to be considered as a cult, some kind of a B-movie genre. Films like Sharknado are supposed to be short-term memories, but, now that internet is such a thing which has given a new lease of life to even this kind of movies.

Fans can now decide by voting on Twitter about which character should survive or die, while the most dreadful moments from the movies attain eternity as memes.

We don’t mean to say that some of the sci-fi films haven’t been blockbuster pop-culture successes (Star Wars) or movies adored by the critics (Avatar), because they have been there.  However, that’s not exactly the kind of films which we would discuss in this article.
