The ’80s Show, ‘V’ Is Being Remade As A Movie

The popular ’80s series, V is now making its way to the silver screen and is kicking off a new trilogy. The sci-fi had told the story of a few carnivorous reptilian humanoid aliens, the Visitors, who land on Earth and to take over the planet.

Desilu Studios, Inc has recently announced that a new movie version is set to be written and will be directed by Kenneth Johnson, who will aid in producing this film movie with John Hermansen and Barry Opper.

Kenneth had said: “We are delighted to team up with Desilu to bring the timeless – and timely – story of resistance against tyranny into the 21st century.”

He then continued: “V will be the first of a cinematic trilogy which will tell the full epic tale in the manner I always envisioned.”

V had first aired in 1983 and culminated a sequel, The Final Battle, but this was not the end for V, and it returned for yet another few episodes the next year.

It had been reimagined for a whole new series in 2009 with Morris Chestnut, Elizabeth Mitchell, and Morena Baccarin and ran for 2 seasons.

“V is a multi-billion dollar film franchise and merchandising juggernaut,” said Desilu Exec VP, Steven Posen.
