Here’s How The Dark Phoenix Movie Will Mark The X-Men’s Entry Into The MCU

Disney has finally bought up 20th Century Fox for a total amount of $60 billion. This deal has led many to believe what would happen to some of Fox’s old properties like the X-Men and how would they find themselves a place in the MCU. Now a new report says that the X-Men could be making a big transition as early as next year.

Earlier this week, it was reported that the new X-Men: Dark Phoenix movie has been postponed for another three months, which we later learned was because of some reshooting that had to be done. Now those reshoots might be adding scenes that will blend in with the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The good people from Fox and Marvel have been “talking for a few months now, and have determined that Dark Phoenix will make a perfect transition point.” This is great news to hear.

The Dark Phoenix movie will take place in the 90’s and revolves around a solar flare that causes Jean Grey (Sophie Turner) to begin to react. Maybe this plot will also be incorporated into the upcoming MCU movie Captain Marvel, which also takes place in the 90s and will involve an alien plot with the Kree/Skrull.

It hasn’t been confirmed yet whether Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy will be returning for the MCU films, or if the studio would look for new actors. Since the future MCU movie would probably take place 20 years after Dark Phoenix, it would make sense to cast new actors.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix is scheduled to be released on February 14th, 2019.
