A new feather is added to Avatar’s crown and all thanks to Kate Winslet for that. During the filming of James Cameron’s Avatar 2, Kate Winslet broke the famous record held by Tom Cruise as she held her breath underwater for more than seven minutes.
Tom Cruise held his breath for six minutes while shooting the fifth series of the Mission Impossible Movie, namely Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation.
The social media pages are talking about the widely shared first-look image of Winslet from Avatar 2 in which she was seen submerged in a massive tank while shooting for the sequel of the Cameron movie. Though Winslet was not a part of this series’s previous film, she is supposedly playing some marine life form with wings.
For the filming training was required, the actress prepared herself thoroughly before the shooting. She talked about the training for the underwater shoot, “I had to learn how to free-dive to play that role in Avatar,” and she also expressed her excitement as she mentioned it as “incredible.”
Kate also shared how she overcame the fear of this particular scene, “I was walking on the bottom of the tank. That’s a big ceremonial sequence with those huge heavy wings. That was quite scary.
The thing is, when you can hold your breath for seven minutes, you become unafraid. Actually, strangely, I was able to rely on my own ability to hold my breath for that long. Somehow I was not afraid, at all.”
