Born as Jimena “Ximena” Navarrete Rosete on February 22, 1988 in Guadalajara, she is a Mexican actress, TV host, model and beauty queen who had won the Miss Universe 2010, thus, becoming the second Mexican hottie to do so. She is among the two children of Carlos Navarrete, a dentist and Gabriela Rosette, a house wife. She has a younger sister. She started modelling locally when she was sixteen and studied nutrition at the Valle de Atemajac University, before participating in the world pageant in 2012. Ximena accepted to participate in a generic study, and it was discovered that her roots are in the region known as the Franco-Cantabrian, which is in Northern Spain and southwestern France.

Navarrete won the crown of Nuestra Belleza Jalisco, on July 16, 2009 in her hometown and later won the national pageant of Nuestra Belleza, Mexico as well. She beat thirty-three other contestants during the 16^th edition of that event, held on September 20, 2009 in Merida, Yucatan.
