Im Yoon-ah, better known by her stage name Yoona is a singer and actress from South Korea who made her debut as a member of the girl group ‘Girls’ Generation’. Her group became one of the most popular ones in the country and she became one of the best-selling artists of South Korea. She began her musical career with their self-titled album ‘Girls’ Generation’ along with the group. It became the second best-selling album with about 50,000 copies in the first month itself.
They released several successful albums like ‘Lion Heart’ and ‘Love & Peace’. She played the lead role in the TV series ‘You Are My Destiny’ to start her acting career. The series was a huge success in South Korea and in other Asian countries as well. She also made her appearance in the web series ‘Innisfree Summer Love’. She has won the number of awards and accolades which KBS Drama Awards six times, the Asia Artist Awards four times, and the Korea Drama Award once.
Yoona is 29, born on 30th May 1990 in Yeongdeungpo District, Seoul, South Korea. As a child, she was inspired by group SES to pursue music as her career. She became a member of the band ‘Girls’ Generation’ in 2007 and eventually started appearing in music videos. The first album of the group includes singles such as ‘Into the New World’, ‘Girls’ Generation’, ‘Baby Baby’ and ‘Tinker Bell’.
They released the album ‘The Boys’ in 2011 which stood at the 2nd position on the Japanese chart. Her group released the number of hit albums like ‘Girls & Peace’ (2012), ‘Love & Peace’ (2013), ‘I Got a Boy’, (2013) and ‘Lion Heart’ (2015). She played the lead role of Xiahou Qingyi/Ma Yunlu in the Chinese TV series ‘God of War, Zhao Yun’.
